Georgia-based NuAbode transformed a 2004 Ford diesel ambulance into a luxurious studio-sized apartment. This ambulance RV conversion has utilities that feel like a luxury in a small space. It even has a washer-dryer unit and a full-custom shower. This rig is equipped with Ford’s 6.0 Power Stroke diesel V8 diesel engine, replacing the old 7.3-liter power stroke to permit bold ventures.
The creators are a couple, Sheena and Jason of NuAbode, which Sheena created in 2017 in partnership with experienced homebuilder, Mark Lutes. Sheena says that the ambulance RV is built strictly keeping in mind the comfort and luxury of the occupants.
The exterior of this humble vehicle features a custom bumper and rear, and rides on BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. It is also outfitted with a full cab noise dampening and heat reduction. The exterior is finished in Toyota lunar rock paint and plenty of Arctic tern windows with built-in shades and screens to make it look less like a cold metal box and more like a livable automobile.
Inside, the interior is flushed in the warm wooden accent of CNC-cut birch. The space is inviting and stands in stark contrast with the exterior. Upon entering, a nicely built kitchen welcomes you with a tiny countertop, a sink, and a generous prep space. Despite space constraints, there is enough storage throughout the kitchen with ample drawers, cabinets, and little cubbies. For the appliances, there is a slide-out cooktop, a tea/coffee bar, and a refrigerator. The tiled backsplash gives off the vibe of being in a regular kitchen.
Next to the kitchen is a compact bathroom. It is enclosed by a sliding door and comes with a shower, and a Wrappon toilet with a custom plastic bag system that seals waste at the push of a button. According to the builders, the shower is the pass-through between the cab and the camper. Not just a shower but you will find a precisely fitted washer-dryer unit by the entrance with storage above.

Facing the compact kitchen is a convertible power reclining sofa that transforms into a cozy bed. The unit also features a headboard with charging ports, reading lights, and a projector screen connected to a Roku setup for unobstructed entertainment.
Most of all this ambulance RV conversion offers off-grid capabilities too. Other significant facilities you would want to see in a quintessential RV include 500 watts of rooftop solar panels, an air conditioner, LED lights throughout, four 100 amp-hour AGM batteries, four security cameras, and an alternator for house battery charging.
There is a diesel heater with hydronic floor heat, water-to-air exchangers, and an onboard air compressor to make your on-road journey comfortable and seamless. Ideal for couples or solo travelers, the off-road capable ambulance RV is priced at $135,000.
