It happens more often than not. You’re watching a TV show and want to toggle the volume or change the channel, but the remote is nowhere to be found. You look all around, and at last find the remote which is, in fact, the one that controls the set-top box. That’s a major spoiler, especially now that FIFA WC 2018 has kick-started. Amazon Fire TV Cube is here to eliminate this hassle very possibility with the Alexa voice-controlled input.
The smart home device combines streaming media player and the prowess of Alexa voice assistant to deliver unmatchable entertainment experience. Basically, it is an oriented setup for Alexa voice control of devices to access the content available on Fire TV.
This includes a plethora of content available on popular apps like Netflix, Hulu, PlayStation Vue, etc. Depending on the compatibility of your smart TV, you can even access the internet and enjoy content on YouTube, Facebook and other popular portals with voice commands alone.
According to Marc Whitten, Vice President of Fire TV;
We believe voice makes it easier for customers to control their entertainment systems and watch the TV and movies they care about.
With simple voice commands like “Alexa, turn on the TV” or “Alexa, fast forward to 10 minutes” the user can go hands-free when watching TV. This comes handy in situations where your both hands are occupied or you are too lazy to move your fingers to toggle the controls of content being played.
The little personal assistant is equipped with eight far-field voice recognition microphones which hear your voice loud and clear from any corner of the room. The built-in speaker means that it behaves like Amazon Echo, attending to your every query.
Amazon Fire TV Cube will be up for pre-order at a price tag of $119.99 from June 21 onward.
