Indoor gardening is a growing movement and everyone is counting on it. Growing plants indoors is not only a great hobby but also an effective way to produce your own fresh veggies at home. Certainly, everyone wants to grow plants indoors but there are a few limitations on the way, including space and sunlight. If you are concerned about the limited space with sunlight in your home, Indian firm Altifarm has come up with a clever solution for you.
The company has launched CURA, a series of smart LED grow lights that will make it easy for you to turn any dark nook of your home into a garden. Looking like a ring with built-in OSRAM horticultural LEDs, it is described as an IoT-driven and app-controlled “360-degree plant care” system that has its own automated watering system.
CURA can imitate the sun and can support a wide range of plants from seeds to vegetables and flowers. It can also be used as mood lighting with onboard supplementary RGB LEDs. These grow lights are convenient to use: you can schedule them up to turn on/off at specific times or control them through the companion mobile app. It is also going to support Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Siri.
The CURA app interacts with all the grow lights at home with unique tags and these can be used to monitor the growth of plants with a weekly calendar. It has presets of 1000+ plants to simplify plant lighting requirements for the user.
The addition of CURA pump makes indoor gardening easier. It offers programmable automated watering to avoid the hassles of manual watering. The pump integrates into the CURA lamp, and initiates automated watering, as per the settings on the app. The amount of water or its duration and schedule are set on the app.
These smart grow lights come in three different sizes: 200mm, 300mm and 400mm, and features three types of snap-on mounts: floor-mount, wall-mount, and tabletop mounts for easy placement. Each mount allows for up to 180-degree lateral movement and vertical height adjustment. These lights can be powered with a single cable through the daisy-chain connection with the included cable.
The CURA smart grow lights feature a compact levitating circle design inspired by the shape of the sun, with premium metallic accents and a leaf-like motif that also acts as a heatsink to aid heat dissipation from LEDs.
Its upper half is metallic with fins to aid air circulation while the lower half is transparent to display the technology inside. The lights are hung using PU (polyurethane) coated steel cables, with easy-to-attach brass fittings for a homely feel.
CURA smart grow lights sport a creative design that makes them appear levitating in mid-air over the plant. You can choose from three finishes: silver, gold, and graphite as per your needs.

Altifarm says CURA grows plants up to 50-percent faster compared to growing on window sills. It is like having a little sun for your plants. Furthermore, plant care is convenient with smart-home integration and wavelength presets along with the ability to set watering schedules.
The company has previously crowd-funded four innovative indoor gardening products and this time again the CURA smart grow lights are getting huge support.
If you are interested in these smart grow lights, you can back the Kickstarter campaign for a minimum of $59 to get a medium-sized CURA smart grow light in December 2022.
