It’s been a while since we featured a tiny house from Movable Roots Tiny Homes on Homecrux. We did not connect with ‘The Cheatham’s Movable Roots’ assuming they had transitioned into residential projects, building garages, and other parking lots. But Mike Cheatham (CEO) and his team stunned us with their latest creation, the Alameda tiny house, unveiled quietly on their YouTube channel.
Hat tip to a blog that noticed it and led me to the tiny home catalog of Movable Roots, once again. The Alameda tiny house offers a sophisticated living experience on a compact scale. Built on a 36-foot-long gooseneck trailer, the tiny home is tailor-made for a young couple and their furry friends. Akin to other tiny homes by Movable Roots, it features a metal and cedar exterior that provides a robust and stylish exterior.
The mobile home is capped with a sleek steel roof for both aesthetic appeal and resilience. Next, we have the double-pane tempered glass windows that enhance the penetration of natural light and contribute to the home’s energy efficiency.
Moving inside, the home features a living room, kitchen, two loft bedrooms, and a bathroom, collectively offering 390 square feet of meticulously designed living space. A standout feature of this tiny home is the luxurious living room which features a custom-built entertainment center with storage cabinets and an integrated electric fireplace. The 8.6 feet width of the mobile home ensures these features are accoutered with ease.
Adjacent to the spacious living room is the galley-style kitchen of the tiny house. It is designed with practicality in mind. It offers plenty of cupboards and drawers for cookware, utensils, tools, and supplies, and ample space for cooking and food preparation. The kitchen area boasts custom cabinetry and white countertops, offering a stylish and practical workspace. Other features include high-end appliances like a full range hood, a four-burner cooktop, a microwave, a drawer dishwasher, and a large residential refrigerator. Not to mention, a deep apron sink and storage sections scattered throughout the kitchen.
Another highlight of this tiny home is its private master bedroom, nestled above the gooseneck. Accessible via a set of storage stairs, this lofted space provides full-standing headroom and is designed for comfort with a standard king-size mattress on a custom storage bed frame. The bedroom also includes built-in nightstands with storage, a bookcase, and a spacious closet.
The tiny home features another loft bedroom that can be accessed via a removable ladder. Overall, the mobile home sleeps five but can accommodate more, provided dwellers are willing to add a sofa bed to the living space. Now this tiny home is an absolute stunner, but what elevates the construction standard of Movable Roots even higher is the integration of a catwalk in the interior. Accessed via the primary loft bedroom’s closet, the catwalk runs through the kitchen and connects to the secondary loft of the tiny home. Sounds cool right?

Underneath the gooseneck loft is the bathroom of the Alameda tiny house. Equipped with a large soaking tub, custom cabinetry, an all-in-one washer/dryer, and a standard flush toilet, the bathroom is both elegant and functional. Sold at $195,000, the tiny home was custom-made for the client. It is powered via a standard RV-style hookup.
