Airstream has expanded its Basecamp series with a new Xe model that is an upgraded version of the Basecamp 20X with better off-grid capabilities. The new travel trailer features a fully inverted 30A electrical system combined with 600W of rooftop solar panels, a 10.3kWh lithium Battle Born battery pack, and a 3,000W inverter to support extended off-grid adventures of different sizes. You can add appliances of your choice, which will be powered through electricity and can even be used off-grid.
The camper trailer is equipped with an upgraded prewire port that allows for connecting an additional 300W of portable solar panels to enhance solar harvesting capabilities. The powerful inverter and lithium battery bank allow owners to operate all appliances while off the grid. Like the Airstream Trade Wind, Basecamp Xe can run a variety of high-power appliances, including an air conditioner and microwave off the grid.
Apart from the improved electrical package, the trailer also includes a 20-lb. propane tank that supports outdoor grilling. It also serves as a backup fuel source for the furnace and hot water heater. The Truma Combi Eco Plus two-in-one RV furnace and water heater can run on electric, gas, or a combination of both to adapt to different situations. It primarily utilizes a lithium battery bank for heating water or warming the interior cabin but can also run on propane.
The travel trailer has a fully equipped kitchen, a wet bath, an optional composting toilet, and two living spaces that quickly convert to sleeping areas for up to four people.

The Basecamp Xe comes with a 3-inch lift, rugged tires, and black protective-coated stone guards to take on rugged terrains. There are plenty of storage areas inside the trailer, including galley cabinets, L-track mounting points in shower, the dedicated wet storage compartment just inside the rear door.
When you have enough electricity to run your appliances, you can stay for a longer time, and that is exactly what Xe facilitates. If you are willing to go with such an electric-first travel trailer, the Airstream Basecamp Xe starts at $76,900.
