In modern kitchens, range hoods are essential, but not everyone wants or can afford large chimney-style designs. This is where innovations like AirHood come in. Originally a Kickstarter-funded portable range hood, it has recently been upgraded to AirHood 2, which features better airflow and suction power and quieter operation.
Building on the success of its original model, the AirHood 2 features advanced dual-filter technology that offers airflow up to 96 CFM with 28 percent improved airflow while working at much lower noise levels. The improved fan design reduces noise by 4.6 dB per power level compared to the original model.
Users can choose to toggle the airflow between three power levels. It also features a Turbo mode that is capable of handling smoke and grease-intensive cooking situations. With 82 percent increased suction power, the AirHood 2 is a powerful countertop chimney that every small kitchen or a camper’s rig would want.
AirHood is introducing a Honeycomb Filter – a reusable filter made with activated carbon from coconut husks – to increase the AirHood 2’s efficiency. This innovative filter would likely increase airflow by 41 percent compared to charcoal filters. The range hood’s regenerable design assures non-stop usage for a year, but you might want to clean it once after 12 weeks of cooking hours.
The portable range hood now comes with a better heat-resistant housing and has more add-on accessories, such as a battery pack for enhanced portability, a Honeycomb filter (coming soon), and a base boost that lifts the height to match larger pots you are cooking in.

For user convenience, the AirHood 2 comes with a touchscreen control panel, a multicolor LED battery level indicator, and a handy timer function. Unlike the previous version, the new model comes with a dishwasher-safe front lid and oil filter. The AirHood 2 is currently on discount, selling for $187, which is $33 lower than the $220 retail price. You can choose it in either of the two colors: Midnight Black or Cadmium Orange.
