Perched amidst a grove of pine trees in Hocking Hills, this vacation rental near Columbus, Ohio is one-of-a-kind retreat built from three shipping containers. Dubbed The Box Hop, it is a two-story accommodation furnished with modern amenities and facilities to comfortably sleep up to eight guests.
Sitting on stilts, this shipping container getaway has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a wraparound deck with plenty of outdoor furniture, a gas grill for cooking, and a hot tub to bathe amidst nature.
The design is well thought out, with two side-by-side containers forming the first floor and a third container elevated perpendicularly on top of them for the second floor. This way, a rooftop patio is created on the upper floor, which is accessed through a glass garage door from the living room.
The entire interior space is decked in white with contrasting black elements such as the staircase and window frames. Every room is equipped with things needed for a relaxing and comfy stay. Ohio couple Seth and Emily have built the shipping container home for themselves and are now renting it through Airbnb.
