Despite the latest advancements in TVs, the trend of ultra short throw projectors is steadily rising, and now the manufacturers are competing to make the smallest one. At CES 2025, LG revealed CineBeam S and JMGO launched the O2S model in a competition that sports a compact form factor. There is another entry to this niche, with popular laptop brand Acer unveiling a new ultra short throw (UST) projector which could easily be the smallest in the race.
Weighing just 740 grams, this sleek Acer PD1520Us UST projector will take up less space in the home while delivering full HD picture quality at the same time. It allows you to throw a 100-inch large screen while sitting just a few centimeters away. When you place it vertically, it can project a 23-inch screen downward onto a flat surface, such as on a work desk, to extend its capabilities for use in professional and educational environments.
The Acer PD1520Us has native Full HD resolution with 500 ANSI lumens brightness. There is a built-in platform to install apps to access online content. It has HDMI ports, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth for connectivity and even supports screen mirroring. Other highlighting features are autofocus and auto keystone 2D which help in setting up a perfect image size and quality without much effort.

This Aser UST projector is also equipped with built-in speakers to ensure a full multimedia experience for study, presentations, meetings, and entertainment. Keeping portability in mind, Acer introduces the PD1520Us with an optional battery kit that can run it for about two hours. The LED light source has 30,000 hours of lifespan, with instant on/off functionality that removes the need for cooling periods.
The Acer PD1520Us UST projector is slated to be available in EMEA nations starting March 2025 for a price tag of £699 (approx. $720).
