Taiwan-based Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has developed one-of-a-kind sanitizing product for diners on the go. Keeping today’s busy life in mind, the non-profit R&D organization has created Pocket Chopstick Sanitizer that can kill bacteria in 90 seconds.
Sanitizer that claims to kill 99.99 percent of bacteria like E.coli and other pathogenic microorganism is also world’s first deep ultraviolet LED sterilizer that can perform 360 degrees of cleaning. Fitted with ITRI-patented compact UVC LED light disinfection module, the compact sanitizing box can easily disinfect a pair of chopsticks, ensuring that you get safe and hygienic chopsticks.
Easy to carry around, the pocket chopstick sanitizer is just 12 cm long and weighs only 95 g. Ideal for people who often eat out; like office workers, students and travelers, it is also equipped with sensors for safety and detachable parts for easy cleaning. According to ITRI press release, the environmentally friendly and portable sanitizer does not leave any chemical residue and its lightweight design makes it feasible for users to carry it in pocket and purse.
First showcased at COMPUTEX Taipei, the chopstick sanitizer also bagged COMPUTEX Best Product Award and will be officially unveiled at the Taipei International Computer Show on May 31.
