What if you could get latest news over few scoops of your favorite ice-cream? Well, Wall Street Journal, US-based online media of breaking news and current headlines, and The &Partnership have decided to come up with a new way to provide information to people roaming on streets. The WSJ Food Truck has been running on streets of US, offering people free scoops of ice-cream along with latest headlines on ice-cream cones.
Each cone is distributed with wrappers, featuring breaking news headlines that are printed in real-time on the spot. However, extra toppings as small bonus are offered to those who already have the WSJ smartphone application on their mobile phones.
To add humorous touch to this unique information technique, fun names are given to different ice cream flavors such as Vanilla Bond, Choc Blue-Chip, Rocky Road to Success and Rum Raisin’ Capital. The truck remained on the road last week for five days; it was spotted at different locations like Manhattan’s Financial District, Union Square and Midtown. Whereas, on the weekend it headed to Southport Beach, Connecticut.
With this unique medium, WSJ has showed us a whole new way to spread information among masses. It’s surely a fun-filled technique to make people aware about what’s going on around them lately.
