Not everyone wants to downsize permanently. Some do it for romantic getaways, while others buy a tiny house so they can use it for rental purposes. If you are the latter kind, Unplgd Tiny Homes has got you covered. The New South Wales-based tiny house firm specializes in building micro-dwellings tailor-made for rental purposes or Airbnb ventures. One such mobile home I discovered today is the Bellbird tiny house on wheels.
I want to bring to your notice that the model being advertised as the Bellbird tiny house is only a display model and is open for customization. The pictures or the layout you see on the maker’s website could vary from the actual model depending on buyer preferences.
The Bellbird is described as a ‘light-filled tiny home studio bursting with potential,’ and it’s easy to see why. Despite its compact footprint, this mobile home is designed with versatility in mind. It not only offers the comfort of a traditional tiny home but can also be used as a home office, guest suite, or creative studio.
Measuring 19.6 feet long and 8.2 feet wide, this compact dwelling comes poised on a triple-axle trailer. What I love about Bellbird is its exterior. The tiny house comes accoutred with a covered porch, and well-placed doors and windows, giving it an airy, open feel that belies its small stature. Inside, the tiny house features a kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom. However, the bedroom can also be customized into a creative studio or home office.
As you step inside the home, you are welcomed by a sleek kitchen that features an angled timber countertop, generous storage, and space for a mini-fridge. As per the maker, “You can customize it further if you’re starting from scratch. Buyers are free to pick their tapware color, swap the timber countertop for stone or porcelain, or add a slide-out range hood and a bigger stove.” The kitchen also includes a solid timber fold-down breakfast bar that offers a spot to sip coffee or share a meal without eating up floor space.
A little ahead is the bedroom of the Bellbird tiny house. The bedroom features a sofa that transforms into a bed or can be equipped with a queen-size bed. But I would prefer the convertible sofa as it would free up space during the day to be utilized for other purposes.

Squeezed between the kitchen and the bedroom is the bathroom. It comprises a full-sized shower with a glass screen, a conventional toilet with an integrated sink, and a wall mirror.
The Bellbird tiny house comes equipped with water and power connection points, so once it’s delivered to your property, hooking it up is as straightforward as calling in a plumber and electrician. That’s a big plus for anyone who’s ever dealt with the headache of retrofitting a quirky off-grid setup.
While I am not sure of the exact price of the tiny house, I estimate it to be well over US $60,000. The company also offers a range of upgrades, which include a covered porch, skylights, a more organized interior with a gaggle of appliances, and solar system connectivity. However, you have to be willing to splurge an additional amount for that.
