Tesla Cybertruck is garnering a lot of popularity and companies are looking to tap into this fame with unique contraptions that turn it into a worthy camper. You may remember the wedge-style camper shell by California-based startup Space Campers, which created a lot of buzz when it was unveiled in 2022. Now, the company is back with its latest model dubbed The Cap, designed to provide an enclosed cargo area that can also be used for sleeping overnight in the Cybertruck.
Built according to the angled design of the Cybertruck, this camper module adds five inches (12.7 cm) of height to the peak of the truck. This creates 40 inches (101.6 cm) of height inside the cabin where you can sleep or relax watching a movie or enjoy views from the tailgate. The 50 inches of interior width, which is nearly the size of a double bed, feels sufficient for two people to sit or for an individual to sleep comfortably.
Weighing 170 lbs (approx. 77.1 kg), this camper module has an aerodynamic shape designed to minimize range loss and increase efficiency when towing. It however does reduce the range anywhere between 4-9 percent depending on the driving habit. The L-track equipped camper roof is capable of holding 270 lbs (122.4 Kg) when moving and 650 lbs (approx. 295 Kg) in parked state.
The Cap can be equipped with several optional accessories including a configurable mattress that can be stored on the partially closed tonneau cover. Made from 4-inch thick memory foam, it transforms the truck bed into a cozy lounge or sleeping area suitable for anyone under six feet tall. Your stay inside The Cap can be accentuated by the choice of a glass or aluminum rear hatch.
