Volkswagen has updated its ever-popular Grand California camper van for 2025 to match the needs of modern customers. The company’s only model featuring a central wet bathroom, it now comes with refreshed interior featuring the latest dashboard and digital cockpit. A 10-inch infotainment screen comes standard but it can be upgraded to 12.9-inch screen with App Connect, allowing you to access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the go.
Apart from dashboard, the living room has also been updated with a new 5-inch, portrait touchscreen just like the new California. This intuitive control panel lets you keep an eye on the vehicle’s features like built-in heating, wet room, 110-liter fresh water tank and living area with multimedia connectivity.
There is more – the 2025 Grand California also connects to the companion mobile app, allowing you to turn it into a smart home on wheels. You can easily access camper-specific settings like water levels and battery charge from the app to keep an eye on the vehicle status throughout the trip. The company has also changed the exterior badging at the rear to match the California model.
As of the floor plans, you can choose from Grand California 600 and the longer 680 model according to particular needs. The Grand California 600 model comes with two expandable panels for more space in the kitchen while the Grand California 680 has a longer kitchen with additional storage and worktop space.
Both the models come with a fixed rear bed in different sizes; however, the 600 model also offers optional over-cab bed that can be pulled out easily. Both the models include a separate wet-room with shower, toilet and plenty of storage areas.
The Grand California 680 model is available in front-wheel drive (FWD) or 4MOTION all-wheel drive while the upgraded 2.0-liter TDI engine delivers an output of 163PS, with torque of 410Nm.

Being based on the Crafter, the Grand California comes with a number of driver assistance and comfort features. If you are looking to buy, the Volkswagen Grand California is available in seven paint color options, with 600 model starting at £84,046 (approx. US$108,780), while the 680 model costs £86,800 (approx. $112,345).
