The palm vein recognition technology is rapidly becoming a favorite in the smart lock industry. CES 2025 also witnessed it when brands like Philips and TCL opted for the technology. While people look for several features in their smart locks, we think that unlocking speed is the most crucial, which Lockin is focusing on in its new Veno Pro. Claimed to be the world’s fastest video smart lock, it unlocks in just 0.17 seconds with 99.8-percent accuracy – owing to the Venokey palm vein recognition technology. The company says it even works when your hands are wet or dirty.
The Veno Pro is a multi-functional home security solution as it also serves as a video doorbell. It comes integrated with a 2K camera that offers a 180-degree wide-angle view to provide full coverage at the entrance. Equipped with LockinAI and dual sensors (PIR + 60GHz radar), it accurately detects motion from people, packages, and vehicles, and instantly sends real-time alerts to your phone in just three seconds.
This touchless door lock is equipped with a removable 7.4V 5000mAh lithium battery, which can run it for about three months on a single charge. You can power it through AC charging or a power bank via a Type-C port. The lock can also be paired with a solar panel for an uninterrupted power supply. It just needs two hours of sunlight to power itself for daily use. When the battery is low, the lock and app alert you so that you never have to worry about sudden power loss.
The all-free mobile app can be used to access features, including biometric access or video doorbell settings. It helps you answer visitors on your door, check video footages, create custom focus areas, and it even lets you remotely lock the door. Another great perk is 32GB local storage. The Veno Pro is capable of storing up to 18 months of footage, which means you don’t have to buy any cloud subscription, and there is a low risk of data breaches.

The smart lock supports Matter protocol, which means you can integrate it with platforms such as Apple Home, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings with a separate hub. Once connected, you can control the lock through voice commands.
Designed by Hartmut Esslinger, the former design and strategy partner of Steve Jobs at Apple and the founder of Frog Design, it sports a sleek, modern look. With an IP65-rated exterior, the Lockin Veno Pro is water-resistant and built for outdoor use. The company says it can be installed in just 15 minutes using only a screwdriver.
The Lockin Veno Pro touchless door lock is currently seeking funds on Indiegogo. You can pledge super early bird price of $229 now, and get a smart dook lock with video doorbell in April 2025.
