Germany-based Sportcaravan has ditched its Cube 4 and Cube 5 trailer to present a compact model named Cube 3, being hailed as a smart move by the maker. The hauler can be used both as a transport trailer, or a living trailer in the minimalistic size. It is built to be extra light, so that even if you have a mid-sized electric car, towing Cube 3 trailer is not a problem.
However, being compact doesn’t mean that it underperforms, as the basic structure has been intelligently developed with full insulation from extreme weather conditions. Whether you want to shift bases using Cube 3, or take it on your next camping expedition – Sportscampervan’s newest edition won’t let you down.
The user can explore alternatives between gear hauling, sleeping, and base camping with the compact trailer. It has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 1250kg offering more versatile use-case-scenarios by enabling a modular design. Measuring around 16.7 feet long it has respectable space but lesser when compared to its predecessors.
Cube 3’s base model does not have any permanent floor plan, and there are no interiors or furniture. The only thing you notice in the basic model is a tie-down track lining that follows the floor, LED lighting, a side window, walls, a side door, rear tailgate entries, a ceiling vent, and PVC flooring. This is like a blank canvas for users where they can build a mushroom world of their own for work or leisure.
Cube 3 can be turned into a worthy modular camper as well. It can be used as a hauling cargo trailer for a variety of goods, or even when you are moving home to a new location. The tie-down track ensures that your belongings stay secure on the go.
For camping enthusiasts, it has enough space to carry at least six mountain bikes, five e-bikes, or 3 motorcycles. For sleeping comfort during extended trips, the users can employ a rooftop tent affixed to an optional roof rail.
However, for those who would like to create a tiny home on wheels out of this rig, the possibility cannot be ruled out. The kitchen and toilet units can come side by side towards the front wall. The former can have an integrated sink, water pump, fresh and waste water canisters, a portable stove, and a worktop. Users can make use of a Dometic CFX35 Fridge/Freezer and vacuum-insulated Qool Box cooler to keep their daily items fresh while on the road.
As for the toilet block, there is a bit of compromise as the shower or sink has no room in Cube 3. The only option for travel enthusiasts is to use a portable composting toilet in a separate section. To enable shower space, an Ortlieb water bag shower system can be integrated outside to keep fresh. We think it is not such a big minus when you have some basic privacy for toilet space in the trailer.

The little trailer is going to take care of six people slumbering in a confined space but how is that possible? If you are a fan of bunk beds, that is how Cube 3 builds some exciting sleeping nooks inside of it. The triple sleeping region first has the lower convertible dining bench bed used for dining when not converted into a full bed configuration. The second bed is formed from the upper foldaway bed. The third bed goes into the rooftop tent which can be reached using the inner hatch.
Cube 3 trailer comes at a basic price of $15,300 but after building it into a movable home configuration the cost will rise to approximately $25,125.
