Who doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies? Well, I didn’t, until I started making them myself. I still haven’t tried making them with eggs, because I often make them to share with my sister, who is a vegan. So I perfected this eggless chocolate chip cookie recipe, which is so fluffy, chewy, and delectable. They also make the perfect dessert.
While many people have their cookie recipes, this is my chocolate chip cookie recipe and it makes one of the best handmade gift ideas for any occasion. I love gifting these sweet treats to friends and family for no particular reason (because my love language is baking).
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Active Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour (10.5 oz)
- Baking Soda (1 teaspoon)
- Brown Sugar (5 oz)
- Plant-Based Butter (6 oz)
- Powdered Sugar (2 oz)
- Pinch of Salt
- Three Tablespoon of Milk or Black Coffee
- Dark Chocolate Chunks (3 oz)
- Chocolate Chips (4 oz)
How to Make Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies at Home
- Sift all the dry ingredients in a bowl (all-purpose flour + baking soda + pinch of salt)
- Melt the butter in a pan and let it brown a little. Don’t burn it. Just brown it
- Then add brown sugar and white powdered sugar into the melted butter and whisk it nicely
- Now, combine the wet and dry ingredients using a spatula so that you don’t over mix
- Add milk or black coffee + dark chocolate chunks + chocolate chips into the dough and mix gently using a spatula
- Place the uncooked cookie dough in the fridge for 30 minutes or so
- Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes
- Take the dough out of the fridge and form into tiny little balls. Add chocolate chips on top of each cookie ball and place on a parchment-lined baking tray, leaving a 5-inch gap between each ball
- Pop the tray into the oven and let the cookies bake at 150 degrees Celsius for 15-18 minutes
- Once baked, place them on a cooling rack before giving them a taste test
- Let the cookies cool off, and put them in an airtight container
If you want to make a bigger batch, you can double down on the ingredients. You can also adjust the amount of sugar according to your tastes. I don’t like them too sweet hence the amount. You can also substitute for normal butter if you are not adhering to a strict vegan diet.
