Cocoon Freelancer is a cozy cabin designed by Germany-based AttiaDesign. It is constructed to be compatible with the standard 3.5 Ton-Mercedes Benz Sprinter, VW Crafter flatbed platform. This habitable cabin aims to redefine mobile living, opting for more sustainable alternatives over conventional camper vans and mobile offices.
To create Cocoon Freelancer, AttiaDesign collaborated with German company Schreinerei Weidlich, known for building durable, efficient, and lightweight walls for mobile structures. The development process took three years, including prototypes and test traveling across Europe for 9000 kilometers.
Weighing up to 1,200 kilograms, this cubic space is intended for professionals and adventurers who seek privacy and a quiet workspace. It is built without any glue, chemicals, or plastic. This wooden structure is handcrafted entirely from moon wood (a type of timber harvested during the waning moon) and is inspired by Japanese wooden construction.
The exterior of this wooden cabin features minimal windows and a huge glass sliding entry door. This sliding door invites nature indoors and bathes the space in warm, natural light. Inside, the space is inviting and will curl you up in an ultimate unwinding experience.
Interior is transformable and adaptable. For example, the lounge area is an inviting get-together space with storage beneath the mattress for clothes, bed linens, and more. There is also an ergonomic, folding table that opens up the versatile option for reading, working, and having intimate meals. When not in use, the table can be folded away for a standing configuration, or can be extended into a king-size double bed, adapting seamlessly to your needs.

The kitchen space is meticulous and minimal. It is equipped with a wooden countertop, tiny stove, cooktop, adequate storage solution, and 18 liters of running water from stainless steel pipes – keeping up with the sustainable ethos. The kitchen space houses all the fundamental amenities you need to prepare more than essential meals. There is also a fireplace to heat the interior when it gets jittery outside.
With Cocoon Freelancer, you can enjoy a 360-degree view that allows you to fully immerse in nature. It is designed to harmoniously connect with the world outside, discover the self, and live a life of sustainability and minimalism!
