Displace has been chasing the dream of a wireless television set powered by batteries for over two years now. We first saw the prototype of a 55-inch wall-sticking Displace TV that had no wires and instead ran on hot-swappable batteries at the CES 2023. Two years down the line, the in-home entertainment company has returned to CES 2025 with the news that its wireless TV is ready. You can start preordering it at $1,000 off while the CES conference in Las Vegas lasts; shipping will begin on March 28.
Displace has returned with two variants of its wireless TV that can stick to a wall using four suction cups at the back (also have a pair of pop-out legs for setting the screen on a surface). The TVs are powered by rechargeable batteries, but these are not swappable anymore. Given their easy setup, the Displace TV can be taken anywhere, from the living room to the kitchen or from the poolside to your game den in the basement.
The Displace wireless TV is created in Basic and Pro models. Both have the same 4K OLED displays, are integrated with some AI features, and come in either 27 or 55-inch screen sizes. According to the received information, the primary difference between the two models is that only the Displace TV Pro has suction cups.
The 55-inch 4K OLED Displace TV Pro runs on an 8-core Intel processor, is powered by a 10,000mAh battery, and features 32GB RAM and 256 gigs of internal storage. It comes paired with a detachable Displace soundbar and speakers with built-in batteries, which in addition to enhancing the sound, help extend the TV’s battery life. The Basic model on the other hand uses a 4-core Intel process paired with 16GB of RAM, 256GB storage, and a modest 5,000mAh battery.
According to press information, the Displace TVs provide 40-60 hours of playback on a single charge, which can be extended up to 150 hours with the soundbar and speakers (that come paired with the Pro models, but will have to be bought separately with the Basic options).
All the four variants on display are off $1,000 until January 10. After the CES ends, the discount will end. and the retail prices will be: $2,499 for Displace TV Basic (27-inch), $3,499 for Basic (55-inch); Pro (27-inch) will go for $3,999, and the flagship Displace TV Pro (55-inch) will set you back $5,999.
These TVs are all-screen, with a very insignificant metallic silver bezel around the edges. Hanging up there without brackets or support (except for the suction cups), these gravity-defying TVs hide a camera on the top, and charging and connecting ports on either side. Only available on the 55-inch 4K OLED Displace Pro, a pop-out section makes space for a Roku Stick or some other streamer.
The Displace wireless TV can be controlled either by hand gestures to play and pause or by using a fancy accompanying remote that lets you scroll through the apps and a menu on the screen. It has six buttons, one of which is customizable, and has a small trackpad on the lower section.
