Samsung Electronics has unveiled new refrigerators with AI Hybrid Cooling technology that will be exhibited at the 2025 CES. This innovative appliance combines artificial intelligence with new-age cooling methods to make our lives convenient. As refrigerators run all day long, the main focus is to develop a cooling system that helps save energy, which is a concern for many homeowners these days.
These AI-powered refrigerators make use of a Peltier module along with a highly efficient compressor for cooling. It is a semiconductor device that achieves cooling by harnessing the temperature change arising from the flow of electric current. This way, the refrigerator acts like a hybrid car that uses two power sources together only when it needs more power for cooling.
If you add many items to the fridge at once, or if it is hot summer season, the refrigerator will activate the Peltier module alongside the compressor for better cooling. In the normal mode, it only uses the compressor to ensure optimal efficiency. The AI algorithm detects the current status of the refrigerator and predicts temperature changes inside the fridge to properly adjust the cooling mode.

Furthermore, the AI Inverter compressor also helps in saving energy, with an enhanced design that increases the radius of its rotating components. It offers 4.1 times greater inertia compared to Samsung’s conventional F3 compressor, allowing it to operate longer while using less energy. There is also a built-in AI algorithm for the compressor that dynamically optimizes its speed.
The AI Hybrid Cooling technology precisely controls temperature to extend the life of perishable foods. When activated, it reduces internal temperature fluctuations in the fridge, even during the appliance’s automatic defrost cycles. Samsung claims that the Hybrid Precise Cooling feature extends the freshness of foods, allowing items like pork to stay fresh up to 1.4 times longer and salmon up to 1.2 times longer.
The Samsung refrigerators with AI Hybrid Cooling technology come with a 900-liter capacity, deeper shelves, and a larger loadable area. This innovative appliance is making its debut next week at CES 2025.
