We are not new to the concept of builders turning the old and unused into bold and functional. A recent case in point is the Ramblenook Camper. It is a micro camper created from the shell of an old cargo trailer that manages to fit a seating/sleeping area and slight cooking provisions in a compact space. It is currently up for sale on Tiny House Marketplace for $11,000.
Ramblenook Camper measures 8 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5.4 feet high. Since its initial build in 2003, the camper has undergone some major changes. It includes a fresh coat of paint, repairing holes in its metal exterior, and the installation of new storage boxes, giving this old cargo camper a new life. There is an awning attached to the roof that makes it easier to prepare meals at the back.
You enter from a door into a living space entirely taken up by the sitting area and removable oak dining table. There are multiple shelves and cabinets for storage, and custom cushions for added comfort. In the name of a kitchen, you get a tiny countertop with a mini-sink and a propane-powered stove. Other knick-knacks comprise a tiny window, a hatch at the rear, and a ceiling fan for ventilation.
You can still sleep in this camper when needed. The sitting area is turned into a sleeping space when the removable table is stowed away or used as a part of the bed system. There is an emergency camp toilet included in the Ramblenook Camper as well.

The Ramblenook Camper is also outfitted with a solar battery system, multiple power outlets, a space heater, a Maxx Air fan, a freshwater tank, and a gray water tank of 3-5 gallons. These added amenities make it operable off the grid.
Considering it offers only 40 square feet of living space, the camper may not be suitable for full-time living. Despite the ultra-compact size, Ramblenook still provides cozy facilities to make you feel inviting. But if you like a good challenge and are a hardcore downsized lifestyler, this camper can be a good test of your resoluteness.
