The Borderia coffee table is designed by Rute Martins for the Portuguese furniture brand Greenapple. It is part of the modern Borderia coffee table collection, which is built with different materials to bring the essence of nature to your home.
It takes inspiration from the captivating lines of the Borderia beach in Carrapateria, Portugal, famous for offering a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. The lines of the beach show the unison of water and land. Drawing on similar lines, the namesake coffee table has a curvy design to mimic the ocean waves, nestling two contrasting materials to depict land and water.
The coffee table is built by nestling the Calacatta marble and American oak for an organic feel. The American oak is polished with black lacquer while the Bianco Calacatta marble is polished for a glossy look to enhance the aesthetics of your home. The sweeping curves on the table depict the unison of an ocean with the land.
This design also highlights the concept of human ecology and emphasizes the interrelationships between people and their environment. This coffee table measures 11 inches high, 43 inches wide, and 39 inches deep. It has a thick cylindrical leg to withstand the hefty load of the marble section while the other two legs are slimmer and support the wooden part of the tabletop to create balance.
The Greenapple shares on Instagram, “At Greenapple, we ensure our Coffee Tables meet the highest quality standards by carefully selecting rare, noble materials and employing the time-honoured techniques of our master craftsmen. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, this approach allows us to create heirloom-quality pieces that appreciate in value over time”
