3D-printed hotels are set to become a reality with the construction of El Cosmico, a groundbreaking project currently underway in the Texas desert

Famous hotelier Liz Lambert has collaborated with ICON and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) to bring their unique hospitality design to life

The original 21-acre campground hotel will be expanded into a 60+ acre property

The project includes 3D-printing new guest accommodations, communal facilities, as well as private residences

The new hotel and homes feature domes, arches, vaults and parabolic forms, achieved by 3D-printing technology

All these circular structures are bathed in the natural colors of the terrain to match the desert landscape

The El Cosmico expansion connects the desert landscape with cosmic influences

ICON will also be building affordable 3D-printed housing for the local community

The 3D printed hotel is expected to be completed in 2026
