Life under an umbrella in the yard is generally fun, but when you’re dealing with a heatwave, like we are this year, then you definitely need an option where you don’t have to settle for just shade. Enter, Alizé Umbrella, which opens up a new world of possibilities when sitting under the umbrella on a scorching hot day.
The Alizé Umbrella is more than a harbinger of shade, it comes integrated with fans. It is designed to provide a constant and refreshing breeze – that an individual can personalize – to stay cool and comfortable under the umbrella on the hottest days.
The sturdy, stylish, and immensely functional umbrella employs Alizé Active Cooling to beat the sweltering summer heat. With built-in fans atop the umbrella ribs, Alizé is made from high-quality, weatherproof materials so it can withstand the elements while maintaining a sleek and stylish profile.
Housing large diameter fans for comprehensive cooling, each of which is equipped with a solenoid switch that locks the electro-mechanical fan blades parallelly to the umbrella’s ribs when not in use. This allows the fans to fit seamlessly into the umbrella’s sleek frame and facilitate opening and closing of the umbrella.
A control sensor in the center pole of the Alizé allows users to customize the fans’ speeds to their liking. Additionally, as a safety feature, the sensor automatically shuts off all fans when it senses the umbrella is closing and the fans are still running. This safety feature also prevents any fan from accidentally turning on when the umbrella is stored.
When open and going, the powerful fans keep you perfectly cool without compromising aesthetics. They would provide maximum cooling – under the umbrella shade – in all kinds of warm weather: hot, humid, or absolutely breezeless. To ensure effective cooling, the fans run at 2200 RPM. The fan speed can be adjusted to user liking, however.

Alizé Umbrella comes in three models – two residential and one commercial – with different sizes and finishes to flaunt. While the St. Martin model has an aluminum frame and polished finish, the Antigua model features aluminum frame with a wooden finish. The commercial variant dubbed the Barbados is a square canopy with four fans and a wood grain finish. All these models are available in navy blue and cast mist colors.
The outdoor umbrella with built-in fans is available for preorder at a super early bird price of $269 on Kickstarter. What just puts me off is that the Alizé Umbrella requires a standard outlet to power the fans, which do not run on batteries. If you’re considering this as an adventure partner you will be disappointed, this is the ultimate option for uninterrupted cooling out in your yard!
