London-based designers Sam Hecht and Kim Colin have designed the minimalistic Bow chair for Danish furniture brand, Takt. As an indicative of its name, the chair bows to the user’s comfort and relaxation. It makes for a comfortable and elegant sitting choice and speaks for the company’s ethos of sustainability and environmentally conscious design by being recyclable at the end of its life.
Made entirely from oak plywood, the Bow chair is seamlessly tangible and echoes Scandinavian ethos of minimalism. Though some might find it uninteresting at first because of its simple design, it carries magic in its simplicity. It is highly comfortable, sustainable, and suits modern and minimalistic layouts.
The back and legs are made from a single piece of plywood. An A-frame wood dowel construction supports the back and legs, doubling the comfort of the sitter. The back legs are bit reclined providing the chair with right balance and form, and the backrest contours the body of the seater at the right angle, ensuring a relaxing posture without straining the back. The seat has a waterfall edge to soften the practicality of the furniture and adds to the comfort.
It is manufactured as a flat pack piece that needs assembly by the customer. Once it is assembled, it reveals its ingenuous built ready to fill your living space with simplicity and elegance.
To make a positive global impact, it uses wood from FSC-certified sustainable forest. It ensures that tress grow naturally, wildlife is sustained along with the economical balance. As the chair comes in separate parts, it makes each part recyclable, which can also be replaced upon wear and tear of a particular component.
