It’s been a year and I still can’t get over how cool, funky, and grand ELE off-grid camper trailer was. The Washington-based trailer manufacturer, Mammoth Overland, accoutered the ELE with a bear spray defense system, drone-launch system, medical-grade air filtration, and optional bulletproofing, making it one of the most badass rigs we had seen in the industry.
With camping season at its pinnacle, Mammoth Overland wanted to test its tenacity once again. This drove them to unveil a new trailer series called Genesis Edition with its flagship product being the Tall Boy (TL) camping trailer. Measuring 16.5 feet long, the Tall Boy camping trailer boasts aerospace-grade aluminum sheeting that conceals an interior space for four alongside an external kitchen with a fold-out counter.
Speaking of interior first, the Tall Boy features a host of accessories and appliances includinga Dickenson heater, a 42-inch LCD TV, an indoor shower with hot water on demand, a portable cassette toilet, LED lighting, and two interior fans for ventilation. Tall Boy not only impresses with an array of appliances but also packs comfort courtesy of a king-size bed and two bunk beds that transform into a couch. To make this possible, the trailer has a decent nine-foot headroom inside.
Tall enough to offer comfortable movement within, the Tall Boy camping trailer also features a slide-out kitchen with a sink, stove, and a 42-quart fridge. Interestingly, the camper trailer also has an inside-out pantry that connects to the galley. Signaling a new era in off-road trailers, this robust trailer combines ample living space with rugged durability, setting it apart in the crowded Overlanding market.
The Tall Boy camping trailer boasts 22 inches of ground clearance preventing the base from screeching against the terrain. It further features two full-sized spare tires, a front-mounted exterior Molle panel, and a ladder that provides access to the roof rack. Tailormade to take campers deep into the backcountry, to spots normally not accessible by usual trailers, the Tall Boy boasts an array of off-road capabilities.

This includes BFGoodrich tires, Timbren suspension, and integrated steel rock sliders, which are built to tackle the toughest terrain. Not to mention, accessories like traction boards and an off-road winch that further enhance its capabilities. For those seeking off-grid adventures, the Tall Boy doesn’t disappoint. It comes loaded with two 100W solar panels, a 50-gallon water tank, a 2000W invertor, and ample storage ensuring self-sufficiency on extended trips.
A camper trailer of such caliber is bound to cost big bucks. Priced at $72,000, the trailer can be pre-booked on the Mammoth Overland’s official website. Although the production is slated for the latter half of this year, you can reserve your order by registering a $1000 refundable deposit.
