Adventurers have a special place in their hearts for Transit camper van conversions whether it is for riding aimlessly to an unexplored destination or rediscovering an old path. To that end, the Ford Transit Custom Nugget camper is a new entrant, fashioned heartfully to complement your exploration journeys in comfort and style.
The conversion is pulled off by German motorhome specialists, Westfalia, and it is reportedly approved and authorized by Ford. The reliability and performance of the Transit are accompanied by an interesting layout inside. The biggest seller here is the three-seater bench that faces the cockpit comprising driver and co-pilot swivel chairs. These can turn 180 degrees on their base to face the bench and create an interactive living area.
The five-person lounge instantly transforms into a dinette by flipping open a fold-out table. When someone wants to use this area as an office on the move, the USB-C ports, speakers, and optional heating can make the living quarters cozy and usable. A 7-inch touchscreen in this space is one-stop point to manage the lighting, heating, water, and battery levels of the Custom Nugget.
The Transit Custom Nugget camper is not only for a day out. It is equipped with a tilt roof featuring self-folding fabric walls, which fold up like an accordion to make it easy to open and close the roof. The roof opening leaves enough space to accommodate a bed within the camper to sleep up to four people – two on the fold-flat seating below – when you’re on a road trip with family or friends.
To take care of your culinary needs on the road, the Transit Custom Nugget camper is fitted with an L-shaped kitchenette just behind the functional living and dining areas. The tailgate kitchen features a double gas cooker, a small prep area, a sink, and a separate water supply. Under-counter cabinetry and 40-litre compressor refrigerator suffice for supplies and food storage.

Outdoor space is merged potentially with the interior by a side awning affixed to the camper. The water supply from the kitchen can be routed to an outside shower for bathing and cleanup, while an optional tailgate tent can enhance the space for more communal arrangements.
At an additional cost, the Ford Transit Custom Nugget Camper can also come pre-installed with a portable toilet and solar roof and power the battery onboard to render the camper self-sufficient. There is no clear word on the pricing with or without the addons for now, but if you are around, you can catch a glimpse of the electric camper at the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show running February 1 through 4, 2024.
