A few years ago, Sportcaravan introduced its Cube trailer series with larger models called Cube 4 and 5. Now they’ve launched a smaller variant called Cube 1, which is a tiny box trailer weighing around 318 kg. Despite its small size, it can comfortably accommodate a family of four and has features like an outdoor kitchen, a winter-ready design, and a hatch connecting the main cabin to a rooftop tent.
Sportcaravan describes Cube 1 as a ‘mega micro-caravan’, meaning it is extremely compact but still functions as a caravan. Despite its small dimensions – 10.5 feet in length, 5.4 feet in height, and 705 lb in weight – it is one of the lightest trailers towed by a motor vehicle in Germany.
Cube 1 caravan doesn’t have the motorcycle-hauling capacity of its larger counterparts. Instead, it’s designed like a typical tiny trailer with a double bed, upper cabinets, and unique features. For example, it has a slide-out shelf for an outdoor kitchen and various storage solutions like shelves, pockets, and rails for a more organized interior.

Sportcaravan’s Cube 1 sets itself apart with its innovative design, featuring a two-person rooftop tent integrated in a way that fosters a seamless connection between the sleeping quarters and the main cabin. This unique setup, created in collaboration with tent-maker Vickywood, not only adds a sense of unity to the overall space but also allows those in the rooftop tent to easily communicate with those inside the trailer. This particular feature proves advantageous for families, especially those with young children, offering a convenient and interconnected camping experience. The Cube 1 caravan stands out as a versatile and compact trailer, demonstrating that even in its micro form, it packs a punch in terms of functionality and thoughtful design.
The Cube 1 caravan is fully equipped for winter use, constructed with fiberglass sandwich panels and polyurethane insulation. It includes ventilation, and an optional ceramic heater is available. The starting price for the basic model is around $14,000, but Sportcaravan offers various options like a rooftop tent, stove, heater, shower room, portable toilet, cooler, water canister, and gear carriers. The Cube 1 was unveiled at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon and showcased again at CMT 2024.
