After the successful debut of the Displace Wireless TV at the CES last year, serial entrepreneur, Balaji Krishnan, is planning to make ripples at the CES 2024. This time, not only with two new Displace TV variants, but with the launch of FrazyBot, a modular beverage brewing robot that would provide users their favorite drink at the press of a button, well in the comfort of their home.
The idea of a device like the FrazyBot was sown back in the pandemic, when Krishnan found it pestering to get a fine brew without venturing out to a barista. Frazy, the company he then founded, alongside Displace, started out with bottles of frozen, ready-to-drink coffee, boba, tea and mocktails, and now the first machine to brew them, with minimal human effort, is on the brink of disrupting the beverage market.
In our time, we have seen a range of capable beverage makers – coffee machines specifically – that give buffs a range of options to brew a fresh and savory cup of Joe themselves. Arguably, Frazy believes, these machines leave the users with a list of ingredients and manual interventions to get that perfect drink. And most importantly then, requires a rigorous cleanup process.
“In-home devices have long promised to deliver cafe and bar quality in a simple way, but nothing has come close — until now,”Krishnan notes.
As an alternative option, eliminating human input and cleaning chores to a minimum, Fraze is bringing to the market the FrazeBot, which is lauded as the first machine designed to help users prepare their favorite drink “from end to end… exactly how it was ordered.” This modularbot makes customized coffee, tea, boba or cocktail at home. It comprises a base module with integrated touch panel and a water reservoir, and has a form factor akin to a microwave oven to fit well on the counterspace.
Making a drink is as simple as choosing a Fraze drink module, which easily snaps onto the FrazeBot base. The ingredients of the drink you want – milk or alcohol – are inserted into the specified ingredient box and with the push of a button, you get the drink delivered, as you ordered. The magic happens with the Ingredient-Sensing Robotic Technology (InSeRT)” in the FrazeBot that makes drinks at an affordable price and at par in taste to a café or bar. If there is any substance in the claim, and FrazeBot can deliver with kind of precision and professionalism it boasts, we may not have to look for a barista or bartender any more.

What really makes the FrazeBot a machine to reckon for me is its self-cleaning feature. The machine“expels trash into the single-use box,” keeping the countertop and itself as clean as when you started. There is no word on the price of the FrazeBot yet. It will be on showcase at CES in January 2024 and we should have a clear picture of price and availability then, stay tuned!
