Horta Tiny House Sleeps Four People in a Fully Off-Grid Layout

Portuguese tiny house builder, Madeiguincho, is known for promoting wood as a construction material in its stunning designs. Each aspect of the tiny houses built by the manufacturer is clad in different shades of natural wood, giving them a rustic and charming touch. The recently unveiled Horta tiny house on wheels is no exception. Despite its 107 square feet interior, the compact dwelling offers accommodation to four people.

Designed with off-grid living in mind, the tiny house is supposedly outfitted with solar panels, a wood-fired stove, and a gray water tank. Inside its petite form factor, the Horta tiny house packs two sleeping lofts, a living room, a cooking area, and a full bathroom.

The dark wood exterior provides perfect contrast to the light-bathed, pale wood interior. The French doors open into the living room which has a built-in couch that can offer sleeping space for one, if need be. Opposite the couch, a long countertop makes up the eating space and a kitchen countertop. A big skylight is installed overhead to illuminate the area during the day and allow stargazing at night.

The kitchen has a sink, a wood-fired stove placed under the counter, bar stools, a coffee station, and a small refrigerator. A big closet is installed facing the prep area, which can be used to store cooking essentials or clothes.

The bathroom is past this section and is clad in wood like the rest of the house. It is equipped with a shower cabin, a vanity sink, a toilet, and a separate entrance. The primary bedroom is above the bathroom and is accessible via a typical ladder. It can fit a queen-size mattress and sleep two with ease. The second loft is above the main entrance and can fit two more people.
