Families large and small have downsized to simplify their lives and if you plan to do the same, it is tempting to build one on your own. With skilled tiny house builders to assist, you tend to reduce the labor cost and significantly lower the overall price. One such case is The Origin Tiny House.
The Origin is a classic make designed and built by Texas-based Indigo River Tiny Homes and sleeps a family of four. The not-so-tiny house is deceivingly spacious and has a living area, three stand-up bedrooms, an open kitchen, and a full-size bathroom, with plenty of space to serve as storage and play area.
This tiny house on wheels is built on a triple axle foundation measuring 36 feet long and 8.5 feet wide. It weighs 17,500 lbs. With a front deck, the family gets to spend most of their time in the open soaking up the sun. Dual-toned blue and brown-exterior features smart siding with a cedar accent around the glass front door.
Upon entrance, one can see the living room, kitchen, bathroom, and one bedroom/storage place on the main floor, while the dual lofts lie on the opposite side. You are greeted by a living area that is exceptionally multi-functional. It has a full-size sofa with storage underneath, a bookshelf, and a TV mounted on the wall.

Toward the left is the kitchen area laced with modern equipment to let you cook to your heart’s delight. A full-fledged bathroom with a shower, flush toilet, cabinets, and vanity is snuggled right next to the kitchen.
Storage integrated stairs make way for the parent’s bedroom (first loft) in a split level spacious enough for a queen-size bed and closets. The second loft is just opposite this and both have built-in wardrobes to expand the space quotient.
Indigo River Tiny Homes built The Origin in their bunkhouse layout and was priced at $90,000 for the family. However, the manufacturers offer a similar build with upgrades of your choice at a revised price tag.
