New Zealand-based tiny house manufacturer Build Tiny has been making impressive dwellings for the past several years. Just like Baluchon and Madeiguincho, the Kiwi towable home manufacturer has stayed true to its signature style of making thoughtful, livable, and spacious designs. After the massive success of Kapiti and Kereru’s tiny house, Build Tiny took the curtains off its next project Kōtuku tiny house on wheels and it is interesting.

Measuring 32 feet long and 8 feet wide, Kōtuku is a little longer than other models by the Build Tiny. Tailor-made for a client, the tiny house was dubbed Kōtuku which gets its name from a native bird species. “The tiny house design was modeled off our Dark Horse model, but with a series of customizations for our client,” states the company.

Poised on a triple-axle trailer, the tiny house is finished in vinyl, with wooden accenting, and features a steel frame. Unlike their previous models, the tiny house manufacturer got rid of the loft section and focused on a single-story model. This concept could actually be very beneficial for people who cannot climb steep stairs or ladders. The single-story dwelling has a bedroom fitted with a storage-integrated bed. There is an added glass door that provides access to move outside.

The dwelling features a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Accessed by double glass doors, the living room is equipped with a sofa and features plenty of storage sections. The generous glazing now just allows light to pass in but also introduces us to a gracious interior boasting poplar plywood and vinyl flooring.

Adjacent to the living room is a kitchen that is really spacious compared to traditional tiny house kitchen layouts. Just like the living room, there is plenty of storage in the kitchen with a large pull-out pantry and a row of overhead cabinets. In addition to this, there is a four-burner stove, oven, fridge, freezer, sink, and microwave to cater to basic needs. The tiny house manufacturer has also added a breakfast bar by a window for two people to enjoy meals.

Not to mention, the home also includes a bathroom that features a small shower and a composting toilet. However, both the toilet and shower sections are encompassed by a transparent pod. The tiny house depends on a standard RV-style hookup for its power requirement.
