The perils of COVID-19 have given birth to work from home culture. Work from home may suit many of us, but is a challenge for people who live in urban apartments where space comes at a premium. When a professional conundrum slips into the private sphere, it becomes difficult to maintain equilibrium between personal and professional life. In order to tackle this problem, Nils Holger Moormann introduces the DER VORSTAND.
DER VORSTAND is a shelf-like structure that unfolds with a single pull and can be used for multiple purposes. This cabinet is of great help during the work from home regime as it creates space during office hours and also frees up space for family time. The structure retreats elegantly into the wall, when not being used.
The fold-out ceiling creates a sense of space as it affords light and also connects the essentials. The back wall of the shelf is poised on wheels having a magnetic exterior. There is space allocated to every little essential from pen to the books and binders. In addition, all the devices are chargeable with hidden cables. If you are afraid of someone intruding on your privacy, curtains can also be added to the side and you can carry on with your work under the lights.

The cabinet is equipped with a power outlet and two USB charging sockets which are hidden in the cable duct. The ceiling and the workspace can be adjusted as per user preference and the shelf is completely lockable. Also, there are two shelves for books and other office materials.
The surface of the shelf is made of solid ash wood and comes in a silk matte black surface which is quiet restraint where nothing can distract you. The shelf measures around: 37.5cm in length, 95cm in breadth and 230 cm in height when folded inside while the dimension of the shelf changes to 170cm in length, 95cm in breadth and 230cm in height when stacked outside.
