Bang & Olufsen has introduced its latest Beosound Emerge home speaker featuring a slim silhouette that delivers rich and powerful audio. Designed in collaboration with Benjamin Hubert of LAYER Design, its sculptural structure is intended to seamlessly gel with the home interiors when prominently displayed. Its compact form factor allows it to be discreetly tucked away if you want.
The vision for Beosound Emerge was to create the slimmest speaker possible that could still deliver full range, ultra-wide sound despite its size through its revolutionary driver configuration, said Christoffer Poulsen, Senior Vice President and Head of Product Management at Bang & Olufsen.
This quintessential bookshelf speaker takes inspiration from the compact form factor of a book. The side panels wrap around the speaker like the cover of a book, while the front is marked with Bang & Olufsen’s logo.
Beosound Emerge Gold Tone version features oak wood outer covers on two sides and woven Kvadrat fabric in the center. The pearl-blasted aluminum, anodized in a gold tone makes the speaker look plush and aesthetically pleasing from every angle. There is also another version that uses an aluminum grille and polymer panels.
The speaker is equipped with a 4-inch woofer and compact 1.45-inch midrange driver and 0.6-inch tweeter to deliver quality output despite its tapered shape. There are also other advanced sound features like Adaptive Bass Linearization, thermal protection, and Active Room Compensation that optimizes the sound of the speaker according to the room it is placed in.
Two Beosound Emerge speakers can be paired for stereo sound while the brand’s other connected speakers can also be paired together. The company also plans to offer its proprietary Beolink connectivity for multi-room functionality in the future.

The speaker has soft-touch buttons for easy control and access to the Bang & Olufsen radio stations. It also supports AirPlay 2 and Chromecast for wireless connectivity and has built-in microphones for voice control via Google Assistant.
The Beosound Emerge speaker as said will be an elegant and versatile addition to any room owing to its slim profile. But this is not the first slim speaker we have seen from Bang & Olufsen, fans would remember the Beosound Level that debuted earlier this year.
Beosound Emerge will be available in two colors Gold Tone and Black Anthracite priced at $899 (approx. €749/£669) and $699 (approx. €599/£539) respectively. The speakers will be available online and in Bang & Olufsen stores in selected European markets from April 15 while global availability is slated for autumn of 2021.
