Swiss luxury watchmaker MB&F and L’Epée 1839 have collaborated 13th time. The result is the second version of their T-Rex-shaped timepiece (set to be a trio). Berlin-based Maximilian Maertens has designed this unique desktop clock taking inspiration from his childhood memories of watching the Jurassic Park movie. It is designed as a half-animal/half-robot time-telling gadget that is called a Robocreature by MB&F.

MB&F’s Founder and Creative Director Maximilian Büsser said;

These clocks are our companions. They live. They tick. They’re like a pet – bringing life into your interior. Jurassic Park also famously gave us life where there wasn’t… but what came after the dinosaurs? The trio of Robocreatures provides one imaginative possibility.

TriPod features three intricate legs supporting the main body, three glass spheres for insect-eyes, and a clock dial in the center; all of these together give it a mechanical insect-like appearance. Interestingly, the clock is powered by a 182-component, 3-dimensional sculptural movement crafted on three levels by L’Épée 1839.

The time is indicated through three optical spheres, each magnifying the clock’s numerals so that they are visible from a distance. The dial also has three sets of numerals 1-12, which are visible from different angles. Time-setting and winding can be done with the onboard key. Once fully wound, the clock can run for up to 8 days.

TriPod clock is available in three limited editions of 50 pieces each in neon blue, neon green, and neon red colors. It is priced at €22,725 (about $27,515) a piece.
