The 2020 Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair to be held from 4 to 8 February 2020, will be host to a number of Scandinavian furniture and designer products. Alongside others, Italian manufacturer LaCividina will be exhibiting an array of designers sofas and armchairs at the fair.
LaCividina will be presenting furniture created in collaboration with international designers. The recreation of the Osaka modular sofa by famous French furniture designer and interior designer Pierre Paulin will also be making a public appearance at the event.
Here is a highlight of the designer furniture to be exhibited:
Filinea Armchair by Antonino Sciortino
Made of thin steel bars, this handcrafted armchair is inspired by Euphorbia tirucalli plants with intricately arrayed branches, found in the Mediterranean climate. The chair features a unique steel bar framework with a soft seat. Its metal structure and soft cushion are two basic components. Its extremely lightweight design makes the Filinea suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Suiseki Modular Seating System by Andrea Steidl
Suiseki is a collection of padded modular seats inspired by the Japanese art of arranging naturally occurring stones. There are three major building blocks that comprise the modular seating – a low and broad seat, a backrest and an armrest.
These simple modular units can be arranged in different ways to create seating according to need. They can be combined with each other at different heights, widths, and depths. The seating made from fir and beech wood along with masonite panels is strong while flame-retardant polyurethane foam and polyester fibers ensure comfort.
Waves Pouf Collection by Constance Guisset
The Waves pouf collection is inspired by the gentle ripples running along the surface of the sea. Its winding lines and rich colors are what make them different from others. They can be used individually and also in combination with other modules thanks to the built-in magnets.
There is a range of different shapes and sizes to choose from, and some poufs also have small backrests. Fir and multi-layered beech wood, masonite panels, and MDF are materials used in construction of the main structure.

Osaka Modular Sofa by Pierre Paulin
LaCividina has come up with a re-edition of the original Osaka modular sofa featuring curvy lines designed by renewed French designer Pierre Paulin in 1967. There are straight and curved modules that can be combined in a number of ways for utmost comfort.
Modular elements feature a steel structure covered with fire-retardant polyurethane padding and upholstered in stretch fabric.
PINCH Sofa by Skrivo Design
The Pinch sofa system is based on the idea of combining expanded polyurethane and tubular steel. There are steel tube legs running all the way to the top. The armrests are large enough like partitions, making the sofa a kind of cocoon that offers to seat one in privacy. It has steel legs and wood frame for sturdiness.
Ala Armchair by Sebastian Herkner
The Ala armchair takes clue from old plate racks in museums. Boasting a vintage flair and cheerful color scheme, it is a great choice for modern homes. The small, slim legs are also a pleasing element of chair design. The backrests and armrests are attached to the frame effortlessly. Its high back makes it ideal for use in hotel lobbies or big offices.
