Starbucks is well acclaimed American global coffee company and Italian-style coffeehouse chain, here you can enjoy a variety of coffee other refreshments. Along with this, Starbucks sells plain white coffee mugs with the STARBUCKS logo printed vertically on the side of the mug. To this classic mug, Japanese design studio Nendo, has added a playful design depicting the optimistic approach of the studio. The new Starbucks coffee mug cleverly combines the coffee company’s view of ‘feeling fulfilled’ and Nendo’s ‘glass half full’ philosophy.
At the very first look the mug looks no different than the original Starbucks coffee mug, but as soon as you flip it over, the real whimsy pops in. The bottom of the coffee mug is made to look like there is real coffee in it. The images of Starbucks Latte, Americano and Caramel Macchiato are printed on the bottom of these mugs and when drying or stored upside down, it appears like the mug is actually full and reminds you to have a positive attitude in life. The mugs are being sold in Starbucks Japan retail stores from 19 March 2014 for a price of 1,200 yen ($12) each.
