Tempur Sealy, the American mattress firm has unveiled TEMPUR-Ergo Smart Base Collection with Sleeptracker technology. Combined with a Tempur-Pedic mattress, the smart bed base offers personalized sleep analytics and coaching, in addition to a unique Artificial Intelligence-powered system that automatically responds to snoring and helps people improve their sleep.
Scott Thompson, Tempur Sealy President and CEO said,
Tempur-Pedic has a rich history of delivering the best options for transformative sleep, and we continue that tradition today. With the advent of our TEMPUR-Ergo Smart Base Collection with Sleeptracker technology, and our recently-launched TEMPUR-breeze® line of mattresses, we are tackling two of the biggest obstacles that prevent people from getting a good night’s sleep: snoring and sleeping hot.
TEMPUR-Ergo Smart bed base has discrete sensors that detect snoring vibrations and responds by adjusting the sleeper’s head position calmly, without interfering sleep.
It tracks sleep phases and sleep quality during the night and creates a personalized report that one can check on the companion mobile app. The report lists heart and breathing rates, time spent awake, in REM (Rapid eye movement sleep), light and deep sleep, and also informs of sleep efficiency.
A sleep score is assigned to each sleeper that indicates overall sleep quality, based on factors like total sleep along with how quickly the person falls asleep, time spent in different phases, and the number of wake-ups.
The smart bed base also makes use of AI to analyze the collected sleep data to deliver personalized insights and advice on improving sleep. Furthermore, one can control it with compatible Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices.
