At CES 2019 Samsung unveiled a trio of robots aimed at making life a tad easier. During Samsung’s press conference three robots – Bot Care, Bot Air, and Bot Retail were announced, wherein the Bot Care hogged up most of the time and stage appearance.
Bot Care
Samsung Bot Care is a robotic companion aimed at the elderly. Most of its tasks are centered around homecare – such as measuring blood pressure levels and heart rate periodically and reminding the user to take pills.
The nursing doesn’t stop there, the bot also tracks sleep. When you are in deep slumber it watches and listens to your sleeping patterns. When you get up in the morning it relays all the relevant data so that you can make required changes for better sleep. The sleep data is also synced with Samsung Health for enhanced analysis.
The Bot Care also comes loaded with sensors that detect if the user falls accidentally – immediately and independently calling 911 for help if needed. Now, this is something unique and worth noting.
Bot Air
As one would guess from the name, Bot Air basically checks the air quality in your home and filters out any foul smells if required. The robot moves around your house on three wheels and keeps checking the air quality 24X7 so that you breath fresh all the time.
Bot Retail
This one is aimed at the retail sector to serve food items, show directions, and display food menu and accept wireless payments over NFC.
Samsung has not given out anything about the pricing or availability of these robots. However, we can expect these to shape the future of humanoid dominated homes.
