Metaxas & Sins is one of the first names that comes to mind when you think of high-end sound recording equipment. Going beyond the contemporary design of amplifiers and sound recording equipment, Metaxas breaks the barrier of design ingenuity with a bold statement. At High End Munich 2018, the Netherlands-based premium audio manufacturer showcased some of its pioneering designs which make you go weak in knees if you are a serious audiophile.
Since the company has an affinity for designing fluidic audio equipment, it’s not surprising to see the eye-popping turntable which looks as if it has come straight out of a Sci-Fi movie. Quite aptly named the Phonographic Preambulator Turntable, it is sleek with aerodynamic lines and to sum it all up – an object of desire.
Made from aircraft-grade aluminum and titanium, the turntable is a luxury object perfect for an ultra-modern home. It has a lathe-turned aluminum platter base and driven by a Swiss Maxon motor belt. On a closer look, one can see the tonearm with pure Sapphire tube and jeweled bearings.

Since each of these creations is handcrafted, one cannot stop from appreciating the fine craftsmanship of the design. The turntable is priced at a steep $35,000, indicating that it is indeed targeted at the high-end market.
Metaxas & Sins clearly swears by the design freedom and you can get a good idea of the motivating factors that drive Kostas Metaxas, the owner of the company, by watching the video transcript from High End Munich 2018.
