British Columbian builder Summit Tiny Homes has an impressive fleet of giant micro-dwelling including a 42-foot tiny house and 36-foot Tyhee. The company rarely builds a structure under 30 feet and when it does, we can count on it to be amazing. A case in point is the 28-foot Modern Farmhouse tiny house. It may be compact but it doesn’t compromise on comfort or style.
Staying true to the principles of the tiny house industry, the Modern Farmhouse tiny house exudes a whimsical charm of cottagecore aesthetic inside-out. The tiny house was built in 2022 but never used. It offers an opportunity for tiny house enthusiasts to get their hands on a fully-furnished dwelling that can serve as a full-time residence, weekend retreat, or a little bed and breakfast.
The exterior has board and batten cladding with cedar shake siding, adding an organic and rustic feel to it. The split roof provides considerable headroom in the loft bedroom. A red door frame catches the eye quite well.
Inside, the house welcomes sunlight during the day filtering through its many windows. The interior has white shiplap wall paneling, offset by solid wood timber beams.
The entrance opens into the living room flanked by two big windows. It has a sofa and little space for a coffee table. Past the living area, a kitchen is designed on the left side, while the right side features a storage-integrated area leading to the loft bedroom.
The kitchen is simple and has the farmhouse-style nailed down nicely. It has butcher block countertops, subway tile backsplash, fireclay apron farm sink, a two-burner induction cooktop, refrigerator, range hood, and a three-in-one microwave oven. There are a few shelves and plenty of under-counter cabinets to manage things in the kitchen. The staircase houses many drawers and cabinets and offers space for the fridge.
You access the minimalistic bathroom through the kitchen. The walkthrough bathroom has a shallow bathtub, shower, a vanity sink, and a Separatt composting toilet.

Interestingly, the house manages to squeeze in a ground-floor bedroom. Past the bathroom, the main bedroom can be accessed via a sliding pocket door. You may believe it to be cramped due to space constraints, but that is certainly not the case. The private bedroom has tall ceilings, two windows with sills, and a queen-size bed.
Ascending the stairs, you reach the loft bedroom. It is a nice cozy space, which can be used as a flex room as well. The wood beams add a touch of warmth and the windows bring in ventilation and light. You can place a queen-size bed here flanked by two nightstands.
Currently up for sale at CAD 165,000 (roughly $123,500), the Modern Farmhouse personifies its name and lives up to it. The micro-dwelling is perfect for a small family or a couple. The builder can also provide the furniture items (couch and bedframes) upon client requests. Would you like to live in this house?
