Jag Virdie, a former Rolls Royce engineer and founder of Conker Living, is in the limelight for creating all season living pods that can be placed in a garden, inside a shopping mall or just anywhere for comfort and privacy. With a diameter of 3.9m, the Conker garden pod can be installed in just a day with hexagon-shaped modules. It offers 10-square-meter floor space, sufficient to start a home office, an additional guest room or a small yoga studio in your backyard.
The modular monocoque structure creates a waterproof envelope with a heat recovery system to survive winters. Accessed through a tiny staircase, these pods feature white interior walls and wood flooring to create a warm and inviting ambiance. They can be furnished with custom-made furniture to be used in different ways. Though, there is less scope for daylight inside except for some pothole windows.

These spherical garden pods can be combined to create a larger living space with bedrooms, living room, kitchenette and a bathroom. Each pod stands on four anchor points thus can be put on the uneven ground. It is a great idea to place them as vacation cabins in remote locations.
As per Metro, they come in a variety of styles and cost £21,000 (approx. $27,000), which may vary as per the amenities you like to include.
Virdie is promoting it as an affordable housing solution, however, it is an elegant way to enhance your backyard without having to make much efforts to transform the space.
