Wyoming-based artist Michael Campbell began woodworking after retiring from his construction work. His years of experience, knowledge and skills in construction helped him while creating smaller homes for chirpy birds in the region. In 1971, he came to Jackson, Wyoming and fell in love with the place. So, he settled down here and bought a house in Red Top Meadows subdivision outside of Wilson.
He soon began woodworking and creating objects like frames, mirrors, trays, wine racks, birdhouses and birdfeeders. But he realized that his birdhouses were more popular than other objects, so he started creating more birdhouses that he even sells today.
He builds alluring birdhouses out of of old barn wood and other reclaimed materials, which makes each piece one-of-a-kind. According to Campbell, he like to give Hobbit-styled touch to these birdhouses, which are further detailed with brass hinges, metal latches and door knockers. Inside space is comfortable for feathered friends to stay and enjoy outside view from a tiny window.
