The iPhone maker has spilled the beans about launch of its upgraded next-generation Apple TV set-top box at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. This new improved version of set-top box will now be able to support third-party apps, voice-control with Siri and internet-TV service for improving small-screen experience.
With App store along with SDK, app developers can create various apps. In addition to Siri and App store, the TV box also features Apple’s latest A8 system-on-a-chip with increased internal storage. It will help Apple TV owners to easily control a wide selection of HomeKit-enabled home automation devices through the same set-top box.
As company has trimmed the pricing of current TV box from US $99 to $69, so it is expected that the latest TV box will also be available at a same range. The upgraded version will be surely more than a simple set-top box and take TV experience to next level.
