Doesn’t this picture remind you of your childhood? I am sure it does. It does remind of how we loved building different colorful things with Lego bricks and thought of ourselves as the greatest of designers out there. Well, this Lego Chair is a replica of the 50’s Inpirational Armchair constructed out of different shape and size Lego pieces in variant colors by professional Lego builders.
The Lego Chair was showcased at this year’s London’s Clerkenwell Design Week. The unique chair design represents one of the well acclaimed classic furniture pieces from Davison Highley, which is still available in a wide range of upholstery choices.
The chair was developed by the teamwork of Davison Highley and Conran & Partners and is still famous because of its retro style and extreme curves. Bright Bricks, UK’s only Certified Professional Lego Builders, took the opportunity to construct the outstanding Lego model of this classic chair.
During the event, the team of Bright Bricks was present at the British design collective’s showroom where they again constructed another retro furniture piece using Lego bricks, the Skylon Sofa by Davison Highley. They also described how they turned various architectural landmarks of London into Lego models.
The visitors of the exhibition also got a chance to test their ability in creating their own designs and building skills on the Lego table and become a kid again.
