When it comes to the realm of automotive furniture, we have had the fortune of encountering designs from renowned automakers like Mercedes Benz, Mazda and Bentley. However, the ‘predicament’ (if we daresay it is a predicament) is that most of these furniture pieces follow an evolved pattern of aesthetics that only symbolically relate to the original automobiles. In other words, an inexperienced user might mistake such automotive furniture specimens for just upscale products with modernistic style; the element of the ‘car inspiration’ would still be alien to them. But the above pictured Lamborghini Murcielago desk has no such qualms about its identity. Designed by Polish studio RETRO (as a part of their Unique Racing Desks collection), the desk with its classy replication of a Lamborghini’s front-section epitomizes the very phrase – ‘in your face’.
Similar to our previously covered AMG Seat, the ‘front loaded’ Lamborghini Murcielago desk has all the details of the original automobile. These include – the boisterous front splitter, the arrangement of complex headlights, and the sassy set of wheels, all complemented by the vivacious orange hued paint job. On closer inspection, we can also see that the creators have totally eschewed the famed Lamborghini’s logo, which we presume was due to legal concerns.
However, the designers have not eschewed the storage mechanisms that are expected come along with a desk. In this regard, the Lamborghini Murcielago desk integrates two drawers on the two flanks, along with a slide-out tray for your keyboard. Finally, the top section comprises of the main desk space accompanied by an amply spaced glass shelf that notches up on the style quotient.
Price – 5,900 euro (around $7,800)
