Robin Rick, a retired interior designer found herself in a frenzy when the owner of the horse farm where she lived for seven years decided to leave and sell it. She was forced to move out and find a new home. A nature lover at heart, she desired to live independently among animals, nature, and good people. After searching for a property, she came across Tiny Timbers, a tiny home community at St. Croix Falls, owned by Shane and Melissa Jones.
Surrounded by lush gardens, ample trails for hiking, and thriving nature all around, she liked to become a part of the community and was looking for a perfect tiny home. She commissioned Tennessee-based builders Wind River Tiny Homes to construct her $124k tiny house. Robin’s $124k tiny house is loosely built on the company’s Etowah model and has a modern farmhouse feel. There are plenty of windows that bathe the interior in natural light, while she has set up a nice outdoor lounge to enjoy the bounties of nature.
The one-level dwelling has large ceilings to make the space feel expansive. There are hooks to hang jackets and other to-go items by the entrance. The interior incorporates a full-kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and a cozy bedroom.
The kitchen has an L-shaped countertop, a sink, cabinets above and below the countertop, drawers, and shelves. For the appliances, there is a cooktop, a range hood, and a microwave. Across the kitchen, there is a refrigerator, a washer-dryer unit, and more cabinets, maximizing the storage. There are little details Robin has added like photo frames, bringing warmth into the space. Adjacent is the bathroom, enclosed by a door. It has a vanity sink, a shower, a toilet, and space for toiletries.

A cozy living area is designed on the other side of the house. It accommodates a plush sofa, an ottoman, and a side table with a lamp and books on a display. She has a TV as well for entertainment. However, more than watching the TV, she loves lounging on the sofa, sipping her tea or coffee, and soaking up the outdoor views.
The bedroom is private and is designed next to the living space. It accommodates a queen-size bed and wardrobes on the sides of the bed. The room is bright and cozy, thanks to a panoramic window. Robin’s $124k tiny house fulfills her dream of living freely and gives her courage to take more risks. Her story showcases how the tiny house industry is enabling people to live their desired lifestyle while cutting down clutter.
