I have always been fanaticized by flying, so there is no denying I like every little thing that gives me a sense of floating in the air. Case in point the 1001 chair designed and developed by designer duo of Thomas Hiemann and Markus Dilger. Comprising of reclining surface placed on a cluster of 90 elastic rods mounted on a spherical base, the geometrical pattern of the entire build makes the seat appear as if it is suspended in mid air, so when you sit, recline or sleep on it – you are kind of floating in the air. The seat placed on the elastic rods takes shape of your body, so no matter your position, the chair adapts to your posture and gives you the most comfort. I would have definitely taken one of the 1001 home, unfortunately it’s learned that Digler and Hiemann have no intensions of building or selling more of the chair.
